BIOGRAPHY
Wolfgang Höllerer was born in Zell am See / Salzburg (Austria)
in 1976. He started playing drums at the age of 8 years.
Because he crashed some cooking plates, his parents decided to buy a really
drumkit! Since that time he tries to play all kind of music he is able to
find.
At the age of 12 he got drum and piano lessons with his first teacher Hans
Groza. 2 years later his teacher brought him into his BigBand and some concerts
followed. Beside Wolfgang was asked to play in a funk-rock band and so he
had the chance to work with 2 bands.
After a short trip into office business, he split and left his hometown Saalfelden
to study drums at the „American Institute of Music“ in Vienna. Teachers: Jeff
Boudreaux and Bruce Becker, where he received his diploma. (1993-1994).
Then he moved to germany and was teaching at the modern music school ostbayern
and the private musicteacher institute regensburg and played a lot of concerts
and did studiowork in all styles.
1997-2003 he studied at the anton bruckner conservatory linz (austria), jazz
and popular music, where he received his bachelor diploma. Teachers: Jeff
Boudreaux, Doug Hammond.
After finishing the study he moved back to Saalfelden. Since 2001 Wolfgang
is teaching at the „Musikum Salzburg“ (school for music, dance and theatre
in Zell am See).
He had lessons and masterclasses with:
Jojo Mayer, Deen Castronovo, Steve Smith, Shean Rickman, Billy Heart, Dave Weckl, Dom Fomularo…
workshops/teaching
1999-2005 at the harmony music school in Andorra (summer school of music & dance) and in schools all over Germay, Austria, Spain...
During the time he was on tour with all kind of artists at Spain, Germany, Austria, Greece, Switzerland....
Since 1994 he played/toured and recorded with bands/artists like:

( Rock/Pop/Experimental), „So What“ (Jazz/Fusion/Latin/Rock), „t.ü f.“ (Pop),

Beside he is also a sideman for all kind of projects. He made also theatre and musical work with “Kulturmobil“ (Theatre.), „Musical Ensemble“ – Miss Saigon (Musical) and appeared at BR, ORF, VIVA, ATV (Andorra TV) etc.
